The CAMH/KCNI Neuroinformatics Platform naming conventions (for studies, sites, participants, sessions, etc) rely on standardized project and site codes. These codes are maintained in collaboration with OBI's neuroinformatics platform Brain-CODE, to avoid conflicts between the two platforms and retain the option for CAMH researchers to also share their data with Brain-CODE.
Project Codes
(called Study Codes at OBI/Brain-CODE)
When assigning new project codes, we recommend acronyms that utilize the first letter from three salient words of the project title (e.g., ABC01 for Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development study). This convention is preferred over abbreviating a single word, especially the name of a medicine or other intervention, since it is less likely less likely to divulge information about study participants and less likely to result in multiple projects wanting the same code.
